About the Market
The Makery Market is a unique, mission-driven boutique focused on joyful items made and curated in Central PA.
This collective showcases the area’s dynamic local creatives and enhances downtown State College while providing a nurturing job-training environment for young women transitioning out of foster care.
These bright, determined young women – called Market Apprentices – work alongside dedicated volunteers to learn professional skills and to gain valuable work experience. Volunteers and Apprentices also gather regularly to celebrate birthdays and other milestones, crafting a tight-knit, intergenerational community of warmth and stability.
