In Hand Lettering 201, we'll take your hand lettering skills to the next level by focusing on upper case letters and flourishes. The class will include lots of practice prompts to help you expand your skills and comfortability with a brush pen. Hand Lettering 101 (or a previous hand lettering or calligraphy class by another instructor) is a prerequisite to this class.

All the supplies you need to practice during the class will be provided and you will receive a digital copy of all materials to continue practicing after the class. As part of your registration, you’ll receive a packet of information printed and digital that includes every we cover in class, tips and tricks, sample alphabets, and practice pages. A Tombow Lettering in Color kit (a $35 value) with various sized brush pens can be included in your registration fee if desired.  

This class is scheduled for March 19, 2026 from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Makery in Downtown State College. This class is part of Hand Lettering Boot Camp, but can be registered for individually if you do not need to take all 3 classes at this time. Hand Lettering 101 or an equivalent course is a prerequisite for this course.

In this class we’ll create one - two color screen prints using botanical & graphic stencils. You’ll leave class with 2 tea towels and 1 tote bag printed with a design of your own creation.

A variety of stencils will be provided as well as papers to cut your own stencils should you choose to. You'll be able to print your design on 2 tea towels, 1 tote bag and a variety of "pretty" papers if you like.

We'll learn:
How to create stencils and/or designs with provided stencils for screen printing.
How to set up our silk-screens and stencils for printing.
How to screen print on various surfaces (cloth, paper, etc.).
How to print using multiple colors.

What came first, the chicken or the egg? Sew up an egg that flips into a stuffed chick!  All materials provided.  For ages 8-12.  We'll go over some intro to the sewing machines, and sew and stuff the Chicken/Egg.  Perfect for Spring Time!!

Let’s explore the Garden for a Spring Fun Sugar Cookie Decorating Class - learn all about sugar cookie decorating!

This time, we’ll be decorating some cute spring themed cookies. We’ll work through step-by-step of 6cookie designs and answer any questions along the way. Class will be held at The Makery in downtown State College.

We will spend 1.5 hours to cover the basics in sugar cookies and decorating with royal icing. All supplies will be provided (including a box to transport your cookies home). This class is for both beginner and seasoned decorators, and is designed for teens through adults alike!

Allergens: Heads up – these cookies and icing include the following ingredients: flour, butter, white sugar, eggs, vanilla extract; powdered sugar, meringue powder, food coloring. These cookies and icing are prepared in a multi-use home kitchen that is certified by the PA Dept. of Agriculture. Please consider your allergies before registering.

Class Cancelation/Weather Policy: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of me, the event host. This rarely happens – but in that extremely rare event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund.
I understand that life happens, so that’s why you are able to cancel up to 5 days before the class (before the cookies and icing are prepared). You can always transfer your spot to a friend though, or you may receive a refund.
