Kid’s Clay Days

For Ages 5-16Join in a day of creating in Clay!
Our Kid’s Clay Day is broken up into 1 hour of making, 1 hour of playing by the duck pond on campus, then 1 hour of glazing.Please bring gloves, boots and hats and coats if it’s snowing.

Preschool Open Studio

The Makery, 123 S Fraser St, State College, PA 16801, USANew for Fall 2024 - Preschool open studio Wednesdays!
Join us Wednesday mornings (on days that there is a preschool class) any time from 10:30-noon to create with your young children.
These sessions will not be instructor-led, but different materials are provided each week to create in a kid-friendly space! Come for a short time or stay the whole session! This is a flexible option for busy families with an unpredictable schedule.
You can pre-register or scan the QR code and pay that day in the studio. Cost is $12/day or $60 if you prepay for all six weeks.

Mini Makers aged 2 1/2 - 5 and their grown up are invited to join us as we explore several art stations and connect with other families! We will be using a variety of mediums, techniques, and tools to learn about the creative process while practicing early learning skills.
All supplies are included.
This session will run for 6 weeks on Wednesday afternoons from 1-2:00 PM (no class November 27). All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please include the name and age of the child in the “notes” section when registering.

After School Maker Club

The Makery, 123 S Fraser St, State College, PA 16801, USASchool aged children (Kindergarten and up) are invited to join us at The Makery for afternoons of creative fun! The After School Maker Club runs from 3:45-4:45 PM on Wednesdays November 6, 13, 20 and December 4, 11, 18th (no class November 27). Doors will open 10 minutes prior to class to allow time to sign in and get settled.
We'll be encouraging creativity and individual expression while using a variety of art mediums and techniques.
All supplies are included!
Cost: $78 for both months. Please include the name and age of the child in the "notes" section when registering.

Collage Club

The Makery, 123 S Fraser St, State College, PA 16801, USAJoin us this monthly adult offering of art making and connection! We’ll rip, cut, stick, draw, paint, and have lots of fun while we’re at it.
Please plan to bring a 2-D project and materials of your choice. This could be a sketchbook, a canvas, or any other surface you like. Collage Club is a time to flex your creativity in a low-stress, low-stakes way. We love to make stuff with paper and hope you will too.
We’ll have basic supplies on hand (glue, scissors, some collage papers) but ask that guests come with their own supplies.
Please note: this is an opportunity for gathering and connection - not an instructed class - that is reflected in the registration cost.
We hope you’ll come for the making and stay for the community 🙂

Location: The Makery, 123 S. Fraser St. on MLK Plaza, State College, PA 16801Description: In this workshop, kids will build a festive wreath using a variety of colorful decorations and materials. This hands-on activity encourages creativity and fun!
All ages welcome! Recommended ages 4+. An adult MUST accompany child for entirety of workshop. One ticket per wreath (adult companions do not need tickets if they are not making a wreath themselves)
Tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you may send someone in your place, but tickets cannot be transferred to another event.

Envelope Lettering with Wright Lettering

The Makery, 123 S Fraser St, State College, PA 16801, USABring your Christmas cards to this workshop with Wright Lettering where you will learn lettering basics and tips and tricks for creating beautiful addressed envelopes.
We will spend the beginning portion of the class reviewing the lettering basics. Then, we will dive into tips and tricks for addressing eye catching envelopes. Bring your Christmas cards to work on or additional blank envelopes will be provided; writing utensils will be provided for use during the class. An address guide, integral for a perfect layout, will be yours to keep after the class.
The focus of this class will be envelope addressing and will be valuable for those who have learned hand lettering or those new to the art of lettering; neat handwriting also works perfectly for this activity!
This class will be held on December 11, 2024 from 6-7:30pm at The Makery in Downtown State College, 123 S. Fraser Street.
